No dance experience needed — not even a school play. The routine is built around your group, whatever it looks like.
Two witches, one friendship, plenty of drama
At its heart Wicked is a story about two very different women becoming best friends, which makes it a surprisingly fitting theme for a hen weekend. The films have brought a fresh wave of fans to sit alongside those who saw the stage show years ago, so a group often brings together the nostalgic and the newly obsessed. A Wicked hen party dance class lets everyone throw themselves into the drama: the pink-bubble flounce, the green power pose, the big reaching arms of the finale.
There’s no copying of stage choreography. The teacher takes the mood of the number chosen from your top five and builds the routine around your group, so the playful moments suit the jokers and the soaring bit gives the bride a proper spotlight. Nobody needs to have danced or sung before; if you can flick your hair and point dramatically, you’re already halfway there.
It’s ideal for a theatre-loving bride, and easy on the organiser because it suits all ages and needs nothing more than comfy clothes. Next to the rest of your hen party ideas, it gives the day a real centrepiece, and among hen party activities in the Dudley area it stands out as something the group would never have tried otherwise.
We hold the class in a room we hire near Dudley town centre, or the teacher can come to a space you’ve booked anywhere around the Black Country. The teaching and the hire of the room reach you as one total, in writing, before anything is booked.

yoursWhy ninety suits Wicked: the routine swings between Galinda’s bouncy flourishes and Elphaba’s bold, grounded shapes, and the extra time lets everyone get comfortable with both before building to the big finale.
Galinda’s sparkle, Elphaba’s fire and a finale to fly on; the venue’s hire charge joins it on the same written figure.
Ozian ideas for your top five
Pink or green, these are only ideas to get you started. Send your five best-loved Wicked songs in order of preference with your enquiry, and your instructor picks one from that list in advance, so the flounces or the power poses are choreographed to it before you arrive. If the bride has a number she’d fly for, rank it first.
How songs work: once you’ve booked, send us your top five songs in order of preference, and your instructor picks one from your list before the class.

finaleWicked on a Dudley hen day
An afternoon class leaves time for a relaxed lunch or a stroll around Himley Hall first, then dinner and drinks in Dudley or on the train into Birmingham afterwards. Pink tulle, green lipstick or a pointed hat will look spectacular on the video if the group digs them out of their own wardrobes, but leggings and trainers are all anyone really needs.
Guests coming from Wall Heath, Cradley Heath, Kingswinford or elsewhere? Pop it on the form and we’ll suggest a start time with room for travel. The hen do dance class fee is fixed for the whole group, and a larger dance hen party can split into team pink and team green for a friendly face-off before coming together.
Notes from the company
Half of us were team pink, half team green, and the teacher used it brilliantly. The Defying Gravity finish gave me goosebumps.
Our quote had the room in it from the start and the phone call took five minutes. Picking the longer ninety-minute session was absolutely the right move.
I hadn’t danced since school and was the loudest person in the room by the end. Such a lovely teacher.
Do we need to know the Wicked songs well?
Not really. Knowing the big numbers adds to the fun, but every move is taught from scratch. Even guests who’ve only seen a trailer will pick it up.
Can our group split into Galinda and Elphaba sides?
Yes, and it works a treat. The teacher can give each side its own contrasting moves, then bring the whole group together for the finale.
Is the Wicked class based on the films or the stage show?
Both, loosely. The songs are shared by the stage production and the films, and the teacher draws on the mood of the show rather than copying any official choreography.
Can we wear green face paint and pointed witch hats?
Of course — it looks fantastic on the final film. The hats, paint and tulle are yours to source — we don’t hand out outfits or make-up on the day. Just keep hat brims small enough to see past.
How much is a Wicked-themed hen session for our group?
£190 buys the ninety-minute version we’d recommend and £165 the hour-long one; either way the venue hire is added and the total comes as a single written quote for the company.
Where does a Wicked hen class in Dudley happen?
Usually in a room we hire near Dudley town centre with plenty of space for big arm movements. If you have your own venue booked, the teacher can travel to you.
